That post meant people not knowing who Whitney Houston is in the sense of we’re all from the generation where her legacy and career is completely off of our radar. We all know who she is, but didn’t grow up in an era where we were exposed to her music, which is kind of why I find it a bit ridiculous to go batshit crazy over her death. Honoring someone’s career and their death is one thing, and is in fact very respectful, but to pretend you loved them all along and that they made a huge impact on your life when you can’t even name five of their songs is a bit much in my opinion. Basically, Whitney Houston is forever a legacy, but just was before mine and my peers’ generation.
